CRYSTAL® Barrier coatings Although Crystal® Airbox offers complete protection by sealing the corners of a carton box, the base product in its untreated form has no significant barrier properties to provide product freshness lacking any real resistance against vapour, grease, light, gas and odour. The industry has recognised the added value potential of developing plant capable of applying the new generation of aqueous coatings providing equivalent barrier properties to PE. The latest developments of super barrier coatings however improve barrier properties beyond existing levels of laminate materials thus providing amongst other benefits even longer shelf life extension. These environmentally friendly coatings, are suitable for direct contact with foodstuffs in accordance with either BGA or FDA requirements. |
